Doormat Making

Doormats are found at the entrance of various buildings whereby shoes and feet are cleaned on the doormat to prevent dirtying the floor tgat has been rugged or tiled. It can be found at entrance like offices,hospitals,restaurants,supermarkets,homes etc.

1-coconut fibre
2-ropes
3-wood board
4-dyes
5-nails
6-knives
7-rug

PRODUCTION OF DOORMAT
The production of doormat is a craft and craft is an activity involving skill in making things by hand, therefore the making of doormat requires some skills and steps.
Stage1-collecr the required materials for making doormat
Stage2-weave the coconut fibre and use the rope to tie the lose sides of the fibres together to form a flat sheet
Stage3-nail the wooden sheet firmly to the wooden board
Stage4-use the dye to colour the doormat to present different patterns
Stage5-allow it to dry

USES OF DOORMAT
1- for cleaning our feet
2- for decoration in our homes and offices
3- for economic purposes i.e job creation, to earn money, for sustenance and livelihood.
