CONTINUATION OF TYE AND DYE
TOPIC: PROCEDURES FOR DYING FABRICS
Insert seeds or pebbles into the centre of the fabric and tie tightly with raffia
Tie other parts in the same way, spacing them as required
Moisten the fabric with cold water
Prepare the dye in a bowl using cold water
Soak the fabric in the dye and leave for about 30 to 45 minutes
Remove the fabric from the dye and untie the raffia and rinse in the cold water
Starch as desired and dry on a drying pole.
METHOD OF TYING FABRIC
Tied circles ( using threads only)
Stiching (using needles and raffia)
Folding (folding and tying with raffia)
knotting (using seeds or stones and tying with raffia)
pleating (folding and tying with threads)
