CONSEQUENCES OF CHOOSING BAD FRIENDS AT SCHOOL

(PROVERBS 1: 10-19; 2THESSALONIANS 3: 6-13)

The first advice any father gives his son is for him to run away from bad friends. Proverbs 1:10 says, ‘my son (daughter), if sinners entice you, do not consent.’ This means that she should not keep company with bad people. Any child who keeps Company with ruffians cannot be a good person because bird a feather flock together.

There are good and bad friends. Good friends help their friends to be better while bad friends mislead their friends and put them in trouble, causing them much unhappiness. Apostle Paul, in his fatherly exhortation in the church in Thessalonica on the evil of idleness and loafing about, in 2 Thessalonians 3:11 said ‘if anyone do not work, let him not eat.’ For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies not doing any work. What Paul is telling Christians is that it is advisable to keep away from all those who are lazy. Evil friends do not know how to work hard and support themselves by earning wages.
