TOPIC: METHOD OF BATIK PRODUCTION
Pin the cloth tightly over the table and draw the design on the cloth with the pencil.
Heat wax until hazy blue smoke appears.
Apply wax with paint brush, pattern or tjantin on the fabric following your drawn outline.
When waxing is completed, remove the cloth from the table and sprinkle water on it.
Dip the fabric in the already prepared dye solution and leave for about 45 minutes.
To remove the wax on the fabric, dip the fabric in hot water and rinse in cold water to remove excess dye.
Hang cloth to dry and when cloth is dry, iron on top of newspapers to remove the coast patch of wax from the cloth.
