Earth’s Movement

The earth moves (Rotates) around it’s own axis. The earth is an imaginary line joining the North and South poles. The surface of the earth which faces the sun experiences day time while the surface that is not facing the sun has night. Rotation is from West to East,it takes the earth 24hrs to go round it’s axis once. This is called a day. The movement of the earth round the sun is called THE REVOLUTION OF THE EARTH.

ECLIPSE
Eclipse is the blocking of light from one heavenly body to another. The earth and moon are opague objects(they do not allow light to pass through them) The sun gives out light. An eclipse takes place when a planet or moon passes between another planet,moon or the sun.

TYPES OF ECLIPSE

  1. Eclipse of the Sun:This occurs when the moon comes in between the sun and the earth.
  2. Eclipse of the moon: This occurs when the earth comes in between the sun and the moon.
