PUBERTY
Puberty is the short span of time which marks the beginning of sexual maturation
The puberty stage is based on individual differences
Boys reach puberty at about fourteen while girls at the age of twelve

ADOLESCENCE
Adolescence is the period in every person’s life that lies between the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood
Is a period when you moves from childhood to adulthood

ADOLESCENT
An adolescent is a boy or a girl that is passing through the adolescence period

SIGNS Of PUBERTY IN BOYS

  1. Hair begin to grow on different Pat’s of the body such as armpit, pubic region, beard and moustache around the upper lip
  2. Voice breaks and becomes deeper
  3. There is change in body as muscle develops.
  4. Sex organs develop. SIGNS OF PUBERTY IN GIRLS
  5. The breast develop
  6. The body changes
  7. Hairs grow on her armpits and pubic region
  8. Menstruation starts
  9. There could be skin changes and problem such as pimples

CHARACTERISTICS THAT ARE COMMON TO BOTH ADOLESCENT BOYS AND GIRLS*
There are some characteristics that are common to both boys and girls in adolescent

  1. They will want to try to gain independence from their parents
  2. Feel hungry easily. They are growing fast, they therefore need extra food
  3. Become self- conscious. They may be bother about their appearance
  4. Could start being attracted to the opposite sex
  5. Having emotional changes like being anxious, moody or irritable
  6. Could show concern about their future

MENSTRUATION
Menstruation is the monthly flow of blood from the womb, through the vagina which occurs in every woman of child-bearing age
The monthly flow takes place after about every 25-30 days
The blood flow can last from 3days to 5days

MENSTRUAL CYCLE
The recurring cycle of physiological changes in the females of some animal species that is associated with reproductive fertility; especially the cycle in a human woman.
